The origin of Horsefeathers is pure snowboarding! Back in 1989, Hanuš Salz and his friends were some of the few snowboarders in Boundary Country, British Columbia. They were easily distinguishable from the local ski kids, thanks to their snowboard and skate inspired style and attitude. During that time the brand name was born out of a tight community based on friendship, fun and a lot of snowboarding.
When Hanuš moved back to Czech Republic and met Pavel Kubíček, the two decided to officially launch the brand because of three main considerations: they did not want to get a “proper” job, there was a lack of snowboard specific outerwear on the Czech market at that time, and perhaps most importantly, because they wanted to snowboard as much as possible.
