In 2002, Minus33 was created by textile engineers from L. W. Packard & Co. Inc. L. W. Packard has been involved in just about every aspect of the wool industry, and a proud family-owned business since 1916. In 1995, L.W. Packard was selected by Textile World magazine as one of the top ten textile plants in the world.

With so much of our family history rooted in the wool industry, combined with our genuine passion for the outdoors, it only made sense for Minus33 to emerge as a merino wool clothing brand. Minus33 began as a snowmobile brand, and quickly expanded to other outdoor markets, such as hiking, skiing, and hunting due the versatility of our product offering.

Our headquarters is still located in Ashland, New Hampshire, on the grounds of L.W. Packard’s historic textile mill. Ashland is the geographic center of NH, a short drive away from New Hampshire’s beautiful White Mountains, nested in the heart of the Lakes Region, and a few hours drive from Boston.

New Hampshire is home to some of the world’s harshest, yet simultaneously beautiful weather, which has provided an excellent testing ground for our clothing and apparel. We see it all – from beautiful fall leaves, to white, snowy winters, to colorful springs and summers. We’re New Englanders, plain and simple. We’ve been hiking, camping, skiing, and everything else in between since we were kids. No amount of snow keeps us down, and we only continue to thrive in the summer.
